About The Indoor Triathlon
The Vertical Runner/Summa Wellness Institute event is an indoor triathlon where each participant will first swim in a 25 meter lap pool, then bike on a Keiser M3 (cycling) bike and finally run on a treadmill. Each of these activities will be for a specific time and the individual performance will ranked against other people in their division. Total time for the triathlon will be 70 minutes (10 minute swim, 25 minute bike, and 20 minute run, with a total of 15 minutes of transition time to allow safe movement between activities).
Separate divisions are available for first time triathletes. This allows an open atmosphere for those who are ready to give it a go in their first or allowing "veterans" to go at it against their competitors.
The indoor triathlon will start in waves. Participants will receive a starting time approximately 1 week prior to event by e-mail. This will allow competitors to arrive prior to their start time to warm-up and eliminate the need to arrive un-necessarily early. Wave times will start from 7:30 AM and run through 11:30 AM as latest starting time.
There will be a cycling clinic available for all registered participants. The clinic will be offered at 3 different times on Saturday, February 15th. Time slots are 12 Noon -12:30 pm, 12:30 pm - 1:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm. There are 10 slots in each of these 30 minute sessions. To participate in the cycling clinic, please register by calling SWI front desk at (330.342.4400). Clinic participants can use the facility after their session.
